In Retail we call Pants "Bottoms"

Some Thoughts from John on What’s New at OSLO’s ~ ~ early Fall 2008 (or How I Spent My Summer Vacation):

Just another email opportunity to share a story with my customers, promote business and help them "Build Their Own Style."

Isn't that the typical first assignment thousands of school children will be working on this week during their first week back in the classroom? "My Summer Vacation." With back to school comes the inevitable, crisp, early smells of fall, the change of the sunlight in the sky, and a frustrating struggle with the realization that you didn't quite lose those 15 pounds before hitting the beach!

Summer at OSLO's was fun, with our semi annual sale in full swing, we got to see many of our favorite customers coming in looking for those last minute bargains; once again thanks for your patronage and ongoing support. For the new customers that found their way to us this summer, we look forward to seeing you again.

I had a different goal for the summer, which didn't involve 15 pounds for the beach. Not really sure where it originated, but during my trip to Italy in June I made a decision that I was going to go the entire summer without wearing jeans. Nothing wrong with denim, I just wanted to have some fun trying out alternative bottoms... so I shortened pant hems to above my ankle, I chose plaids, I wore obnoxious brights, and I put on a sport coat with shorts. While in Italy, I even rolled up my white linen drawstrings pants and walked right smack into the Scott Schuman, aka "The Sartorialist," in Florence. He captured this shot for his photo-log of men's fashion during fashion week on men's style.com. Somehow, he thinks I'm adventurous?

In the end, I had fun each day, with choosing a new look without putting on that familiar pair of jeans. Just a way I decided to stretch my own style tenets and push myself a bit further with creating and enhancing my own unique style. It's what we try to encourage here at OSLO's! We'll supply great and unique choices of good quality clothing that you can dress up or dress down depending on your style.

Our current selection of Fall options include Mason's, Hartford, Ted Baker, Gant, CP Company, Hickey, Robert Graham, Theory, Tailorbyrd, and many others filling the shelves and racks at OSLO's. We've got some great transitional pieces that will assist you moving from the "dog days of summer" into the colors of early fall. And in some cases styles are already flying off the shelves. Our staff is ready and looking forward to greeting you. As always OSLO's is about options and looking your best in your daily routine, so remember, when creating your own style, we're here to help.

Sincerely,
John McDowell
