The Red Clay Pencil Holder

Father’s Day
Sunday June 18th, 2007

In 2005, I opened a men's clothing store, named it after my Golden Retriever, OSLO. And I liked to tell stories in our marketing emails sent out to our customers.

In 2nd grade, or maybe it was kindergarten, the art teacher had us take red clay and mold it around a small metal juice can and then we were instructed to push pebbles in a decorative mosaic around the clayed can. Some shellac later and my Dad got a new pencil holder for Father’s Day, which some 40 years later still sits proudly holding pens and pencils on his desk. Not sure it is my best work, but regardless some gifts stand the test of time.

At OSLO’s we can’t guarantee those kinds of memories, but we can offer a wide variety of clothing and accessories that will stand the test of time. Whether Dad is a bit too traditional for your taste, or perhaps he’s more outlandish than you’d like, at OSLO’s we’ve got lots of options that well, help you honor Dad as best you can without gathering some clay from the art supply store and some pebbles from your backyard.

Looking for linen or cotton, plaid or stripes, shorts or polo’s, we’ll be glad to assist you in building (perhaps revamping) Dad’s Style, remember we’re here to help!

Sincerely,
John McDowell
